Marinette County "Imagination Library" now OPEN!

BIG NEWS! Thanks to a $6,000 grant from Tri-City Area United Way, Healthy Youth Coalition is excited to announce that we are now offering the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program to Marinette County residents!!! Through this program, children ages birth through age 4 are able to receive high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their mailboxes once a month, FREE to the child (regardless of family income)! This opportunity aligns with HYC’s mission since statistics show that if a child is not reading proficiently by the end of 3rd grade, they are more likely to face hurdles later in life, including the possibility of developing substance abuse problems. If you have a child under age 5 residing in Marinette County, you may register them in person at the Menominee County Intermediate School District (1201 41st Ave., Menominee) or online HERE. (Note: After your child has been registered and then approved by administration, your child’s first book will be mailed the month following 30 days. For example, if you register in August, the first book should arrive in October.)

Please help spread the word to put books in the hands of every Marinette County child! And remember, Great Start Parent Coalition Menominee County already offers this to children of Menominee County!
