ROCKY MOUNTAIN “HIDTA” TO PRESENT ABOUT MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION IN COLORADO ON SEPTEMBER 13TH

On November 6, Michigan Residents will be asked to vote on legalizing marijuana for recreational use in our state. Colorado was one of the first states to legalize both medical and recreational marijuana.   Agent Clarke from the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) will be in our community presenting at NWTC on September 13th at 6:00 p.m. on “the impact” of the legalization. This presentation is an opportunity to gather and examine meaningful statistics surrounding Colorado’s experience. Chelsey Clarke has been an intelligence analyst since 2012. She has worked for the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) (Dayton, Ohio) and Lockheed Martin (Denver, Colorado).  While at ATIC, Chelsey was the recipient of the Distinguished Graduate Award for specialized analyst training.  Chelsey joined the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA) program in 2014 as a strategic intelligence analyst and in 2016 was promoted to the Strategic Intelligence Unit Supervisor. She is a primary contributor to the annual RMHIDTA regional Threat Assessment and The Legalization of Marijuana in Colorado: The Impact reports as well as a leader in the Colorado Heroin Response Work Group. She has represented RMHIDTA in both media interviews and public presentations. Chelsey graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a degree in Criminal Justice where she was both an Honors Scholar and recipient of a bronze medal for highest GPA in Criminal Justice. She obtained her master’s degree in International Security, with concentrations in intelligence and homeland security, from the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies.  This presentation is open to the public and is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain HIDTA, the Healthy Youth Coalition and Communities That Care of Marinette & Menominee Counties.
